Logan County Cougar Tennis Doubles Duo of Lauren Barnes & Kara Noffsinger played in the KHSAA Tournament @ Top Seed Tennis Club in Nicholasville this weekend.

Barnes & Noffsinger got a tough 1st round draw, facing overall #9 seed Lexington Catholic. The Cougars lost 0-6, 1-6 in the first round in front of a capacity crowd at the Tennis Club.

Coach Jeff Noffsinger said, “I’m proud of the girls and the entire Cougar Tennis program. A strong foundation is being laid to build not only a competitive, but a championship program in the years to come.”

He also praised Logan County Superintendent Paul Mullins and Cougar Athletic Director Greg Howard for being in attendance and supporting Cougar Tennis at the State level.

Barnes & Noffsinger were not the only 4th Region Doubles team to lose in the opening round. In fact, all four of the girls doubles teams representing the region lost in the first round, including a stunning loss by the overall #5 seed and four-time defending Regional Champion South Warren, who lost to Conner High School from Northern Kentucky.
