The Russellville Lady Panthers will be able to dress in their own locker room, sit on their regular bench, wear their home jerseys. and be the home team on the scoreboard when they play Franklin-Simpson in the opening round of the 13th District Tournament at Jim Young Gymnasium Tuesday.

That was the only thing of consequence to be determined when representatives of the four schools met this Monday to finalize plans for the tournament.

Russellville and Franklin-Simpson had tied for the second seed with 3-3 district records, and they had each won a game against the other. They were going to play each other in the tournament, but home and visitor had to be determined. When the meeting ended, Coach Cameron Jackson’s Lady Panthers had been declared the two seed and the home team.

Franklin’s boys will also be playing Tuesday. They are the number two seed in that division. Their opponent will be number three seed Todd Central, which sent the Panthers into the cellar with two close head-to-head victories, including one in double overtime last week.

Logan County’s teams are the top seed in both divisions and will play the number four seeds Monday. It will begin with the 6-0 Lady Cougars playing 0-6 Todd Central first, followed by the 6-0 Cougars meeting the 0-6 Panthers in the nightcap.

Games both nights start with the girls at 6 and the boys afterward.
