On Tuesday night, May 12, at SkyPAC in Bowling Green, this area will celebrate the 3rd annual Kentucky Super Preps, presented by Med Center Health. The guest speakers will be former UK standout Cameron Mills and former Tennessee Titan NFL player Kevin Dyson.

Kentucky Super Preps began in May 2018. The mission of the Super Preps program is to extend recognition to those high school student-athletes within the BRADD, that are well rounded young men and women. The emphasis of this program is in the classroom, the community, and last but not least, the athletic accomplishments of the nominees.

To be nominated, the student-athlete must have a 3.0 or better, unweighted, grade point average. They must also have a minimum of 10 hours of some form of volunteerism or community service that can be verified. In addition to those two qualifications, they must also receive a written nomination from their coach. The final consideration is their athletic achievements during the current year of school. Sounds easy enough right?

A Kentucky Super Prep is a unique individual. They can be best described as student-athletes that are future leaders. They care about their families, their teammates, their community, their friends, and their future. They are connected to an understanding that their potential success will be greatly impacted by their performance in all facets of their life.

“The Bowling Green Daily News is very proud to have the opportunity to share the stories of these exceptional student-athletes. We consider it an honor, and we covet the responsibility of creating a program that makes a difference and brings recognition to those that have earned it,

Thank you to the parents, the schools, the coaches, and the businesses that sponsor and support the Kentucky Super Preps. This program could not happen in our community without your support.”
