Western Kentucky head coach Rick Stansbury and the Hilltoppers basketball program have landed a big commitment from Marshall County High School four-star point guard Zion Harmon on Tuesday afternoon.

Harmon is currently in the Class of 2021 but is looking at moving into the Class of 2020. He is the third-highest rated recruit in Hilltopper basketball history, sitting behind Western Kentucky standout center Charles Bassey and current New York Knicks center Mitchell Robinson.

Harmon is ranked as the number six point guard in the 2021 class and number one player in the state of Kentucky.

The 5-foot-10, 160-point guard picked Western Kentucky over Kansas, Maryland, Murray State, and Seton Hall.

Originally from Bethesda, Md., this season was Harmon’s first playing for Marshall County. He helped lead the Marshals to a Region One championship appearance, while averaging 24.9 points per game.

While being ranked as the number one eighth grader in the nation three years ago, he helped the Bowling Green Purples beat Russellville in the Fourth Region finals on the way to BGH’s first state championship.
