The 17 schools in the Fourth Region will honor their 2020 senior athletes Wednesday night for 20 minutes and 20 seconds. This will begin at 8 p.m. at Russellville and Logan County high schools along with the 15 others.

This has been a sad final semester of high school for the Class of 2020. They haven’t been able to spend time with their classmates and other friends either at school or in their leisure time. Most of them haven't been able to work to make payments on their vehicles or save for college. They haven’t been able to go to extracurricular activities and competitions. FFA is having to rely on an ag business in Russellvile to sell its popular greenhouse plants.

And spring sports athletes in baseball, softball, track and tennis haven’t been able to practice or play games in the season which was to be the most special of all. Not only is football spring practice unavailable, but so are weight training facilities at schools and public fitness center.

Logan County Athletic Director Greg Howard tells the public, “If you would like to attend, we ask that everyone remain in your vehicles. Softball, tennis, baseball, track, football, and soccer lights will all be on. Come by and see how we light up for our seniors!”

He adds, “Seniors, this is just one of the ways LCHS is letting you know how much we love and miss you!”

All of Logan County's sports fields are located adjacent to the high school.

Russellville Athletic Director Kyle Yates says, “We will be lighting up our athletic fields. Let’s show these seniors some love! Feel free to drive and check it out, but please don’t get out.”

Russellville’s softball, baseball, tennis, track and soccer venues are located behind RHS and adjacent to the 68-80 North Bypass.
