Hall of Famer Michael Morris named RHS boys basketball coach

Russellville Athletic Director Ryan Davenport has announced the naming of Michael Morris as the Russellville Middle School Head Boys Basketball Coach.

Coach Morris is a 2000 graduate of Russellville High School and was inducted into the Russellville Athletic Hall of Fame in 2015. He was a four-year starter at RHS where he scored 1,727 career points. Morris played on two regional championship teams, the 2000 Final Four team, and was named All-State Tournament on the Final Four Team. He was named All-Region twice and State Tournament Player of the Game three times.

Coach Morris played collegiate basketball at Pasco-Hernando Community College where he made the All-Tournament Team his freshman year. The past two seasons, Morris has served as the coach of the Russellville High School Boys Freshman Team.

 

Russellville High School Boys Basketball Coach Carlos Quarles said, “Michael Morris is one of the best Panthers in our program's history! He has been giving back love to his school and community for years. He will be great for our basketball program!”
