In a battle for the ages, Bowling Green edged Logan County 25-17, 19-25, 25-18, 20-25, 15-12 in the Fourth Region Volleyball semifinals Tuesday at Russell County. It was the only match in the tournament which has not been a 3-0 switch. BGH and Greenwood meet into tonight’s finals. LCHS Athletic Director Greg Howard offered these thoughts on the morning after the classic dual.

I wanted to let everyone know about our amazing volleyball match last night against the number one team in the region. In the midst of COVID, red county, orange county, attendance restrictions, temp, checks, and Covid papers, our Lady Cougars made us forget all of that for one night.

Last night was one of those shining moments we all hear about. Our girls from Logan County put on a show that all of Logan County should be proud of. Their heart and determination almost got them into the 4th Region Championship game.

I love all of our teams and so proud of where we are. As I drove back from Russell County, my enthusiasm about what I witnessed never diminished. What a truly outstanding season for these girls and coaches! You couldn't tell there were attendance restrictions last night. Our crowd cheered loudly in support of their team and their effort shined.

It was an honor to watch these girls fight and an honor to be a proud Cougar! Our girls earned the respect of many in the region last night.

Congratulations to Embry Burgess and Caroline Kelly on being named to the 4th Region Volleyball All-Tournament Team.

Congratulations to all the players, coaches, and fans for a marvelous season!
