Panthers get district win over Todd Central

Outscoring visiting Todd Central 8-3 to end the first half and never looked back Friday in a 57-46 district win.

With Amari Andrews and Preston Moore doing the scoring, the Rebels led 6-5 after a low-scoring quarter. They were ahead 17-16 when the Panthers began their surge. Jovari Gamble scored 5 points including a three-pointer and Jackson Hampton hit a trey—sandwiched around a 3-point play by Todd’s Moore--to put RHS up 24-20 at the half.

Coach Carlos Quarles’ teams never looked back and built a 12-point lead at 48-36 on a 3-point play by Jaquis Todd with 5:40 remaining in the game. The Rebels never got closer than eight points after that.

Josh Allen scored 15 points, hitting 6 of 6 field goal attempts. Hampton had 12 points, hitting both of his treys and 2 of 3 two-pointers. Todd added 11 points and Gamble 9. Allen was also the leading rebounder with 8.

Todd Central has not released its statistics.
