Basketball Homecoming 2021 will be observed next Friday when Franklin-Simpson visits Russellville in an important district doubleheader. This year, RHS seniors are the candidates for queen and king, and underclassmen for princess and prince. The same format was used in football.

Candidates for queen are Malayla Jefferson, Chloe Shumate and Chloe Whitescarver. King nominees are Andrew Cross, Xavier Coleman and Jaquis Todd.

Coleman and Todd are basketball players as is princess candidate Amiyah Collier.

In the running for princess are juniors Irulan Evans and May Quansombath, sophomores Graciann Beard and Collier, and freshmen Reese Croslin, Madison Penrod and Jadyn Snorton.

Seeking the prince role are juniors Jacoby Covington and Kendahl Edmonds, sophomores Andrew Dowlen and Dalton Gilbert, and freshmen LaRon Cawthorn, Eli Alexander and Patrick Summrall.

Candidates were elected to the court by their peers. Students will vote for the four positions of royalty Monday and Tuesday.

No tickets for the games will be sold to the general public. Members of the homecoming court will get two free tickets and will have the opportunity to buy two more. Basketball players and cheerleaders can buy two tickets each for their families.

Franklin-Simpson will be allotted tickets for its players’ families.
