As we near the final days of school, it's just the beginning of post-season play for baseball, softball, and track.

Baseball - Since my last update, our baseball Cougars have faced tougher competition and better pitching. Coach Ethan Meguiar likes getting ready by testing the waters late in the season against tough competition. The Cougars have lost three out of their last four games. The losses came at the hands of Greenwood (1-4), Franklin-Simpson (1-7), and Bowling Green (5-9). The Cougars bounced back with a win on the road at Glasgow last Saturday (9-8). The Cougars improve to 17-11 on the year with that win. The Cougars’ last home contest will take place tomorrow night against Greenwood in a Varsity-only game. They will travel to BG on Thursday for their regular season finale.

Softball - Since my last update the Lady Cougars have won three out of four games. The wins came against Franklin-Simpson (7-3), Edmonson County (9-3), and Barren County (4-3). Our Lady Cougars improved to 15-13 after their win over Barren County tonight. The Lady Cougars will travel to #1 ranked South Warren on Thursday for their last regular season contest.

Both teams will play in their 13th District tournament games starting this Saturday at Russellville. Our Baseball Cougars will take on Todd County at 7:30 p.m. Our Lady Cougar Softball team will match up against Todd County at 5 p.m. The baseball championship game will take place Monday, May 31 at 6 p.m., and the softball championship game will be held on Tuesday, June 1 also at 6 p.m.

Good Luck to both teams!

Track and Field - Even though many meets were not held this year, the track team continues to push on. The team will travel to Warren East on Saturday to compete in the KHSAA Region 2 AAA Championships. Good Luck to all the track members!
