Lady Cougars beat RMS for middle school softball title

The Logan County Lady Cougar Middle School Softball Team repeated as district champion Tuesday night at Russellville.

Here’s how head coach Victoria Cates described the wins:

Todd County Game: 1st Game

Our defense was struggling at the beginning of the game. But our offene made up for it! Our bats were hot the whole game! We had a total of nine hits. Reese Wetton, Taylor, Addison Holloway, and Brenley Adler led the team in multiple hits! We ended up with a 10-2 victory over Todd Count and advanced to the Championship Game against Russellville!

Russellville Game: Championship Game

Our nerves got the best of us in the first two innings, especially on defense. But our offense was the best it has been all season!! Our batting line up was on fire from top to bottom. We had a total of nine hits. Our team was solid from top to bottom. We ended up with a 12-2 victory over Russellville in 3 innings, making us District Champs! 

Team members are Hailey Henson, Caris Taylor and Kinsley Taylor; seventh graders Rylie Fulcher, Addison Holloway, Sydney Newman, Anne Owen and Reese Wetton; sixth graders Brenley Adler, Paisley Burton, Reece Bush, Ellie Celsor, Blake Curry, Rylee Grayson, Alissa Hampton and Kallie Taylor; and fifth graders Maci Clinard, Britt Wetton and Allie Kitchens.
