The Russellville Alumni Association’s Athletic Hall of Fame will induct into five honorees on Jan. 7 as its 2022 class. They are as follows:

Huey Hinton was a member of the RHS Class of 1953. He was an All-State football player for the Panthers and as a basketball player for the Panthers, was leading the region in scoring at 23 points per game when he left school to join the Air Force during his senior year. He was a starter on the 1950 team which was named as the Greatest Ever in Panther history.

Gwynne Gaddie, RHS Class of 1960, was a football and baseball star for the Panthers. He returned to his alma mater in 1977 to assist Coach Ken Barrett's Panther Football team and was the defensive coordinator for three straight regional championship teams in ‘79, ‘80, and ‘81 including the state championship team in 1980. He returned after several head coaching stops to assist Coach John Myers in winning regional championships is 2015 and 2016. He also coached baseball for the Panthers.

Dennis Sydnor, RHS Class of 1977, was a running back and wide receiver for Coach Wayne Shewmaker and Coach Barrett. He was also a sprinter and long jumper and member of the overall state championship track team in 1975. He recently retired after serving as assistant and head track coach for the Panthers for 32 years.

Sandra Eggleston Brown, RHS Class of 1979, was one of the Panthers’ most successful tennis players, winning the regional singles championship two years, and was the RHS Girls Tennis coach for many years.

And Jonathan Cage, RHS Class of 1984, was an All-State football player on both offense and defense for Coach Ken Barrett's 1983 State Championship Team. "Johnny C," who sadly passed away earlier this year, was also a standout basketball player and sprinter for the track team.
