Lady Panthers to play in All A state Classic this weekend

The Fourth Region champion Russellville Lady Panthers will play in the Kentucky All A Classic state tournament Saturday and hopefully Sunday. The 16 teams are divided into four pools. The winner and runner-up will them move into Sunday’s quarterfinals. The semifinals and finals will follow:

Coach Ryan Davenport’s Lady Panthers (15-5, .59633 RPI) will play Owensboro Catholic (12-7, .58249) at 8:30 a.m., followed by Lynn Camp (15-7, .51858) at noon, and Walton-Verona (9-7, .51592) 3:30.

The top two teams from Russellville’s Pool A will play the two survivors from Pool C at 8:30 Sunday morning. Teams in Pool C are Green County, Somerset, Shelby County and Raceland.

The tournament is being played at legendary Jack Fisher Park.

The two semifinals are scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Sunday and the championship game at noon.
