Fourth Region girls basketball tournament begins Sunday

Brackets are set for the Fourth Region Tournament at Diddle Arena next week. 13th District champion Russellville plays Sunday afternoon, and runner-up Logan County plays Monday night.

The Lady Panthers (15-14, .48489) will take on 14th District runner-up Greenwood (15-16, .50721). The Lady Gators are coached by Zack Simpson, a former Chandlers teacher and Logan County assistant coach.

The Lady Cougars (19-13, .52881) will meet 16th District champion Metcalfe County (19-9, .55816).

Here’s the schedule:

Sunday, Feb. 26: Barren County vs. Clinton County, 3 p.m.; Russellville vs, Greenwood, 4:30

Monday, Feb. 27: Bowling Green vs. Glasgow, 6 p.m.; Metcalfe County vs. Logan County, 7:30

Semifinals:

Friday, March 3, Sunday’s winners, 6 p.m.; Monday’s winners, 7:30

Finals:

March 4, 7:30 p.m.

Russellville High School will sell tickets for Sunday’s game Saturday from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. in the RHS Lobby. Tickets are $6 cash only. They will be $8 at the gate,

Logan County High School will be selling limited $6 presale tickets on Monday, Feb. 27  LCHS will provide ticket buyers two options;

1) Student Council representatives will be selling tickets to LC students on stage during lunch on Monday.

2) Athletic Department will be selling presale tickets to the public starting at 8am Monday at the Indoor Facility.

Tickets can also be purchased at the Diddle Arena Ticket Office on Monday before the game for $8. Tickets are for both games on Monday.
