On Monday, the LCHS Golf team traveled to Franklin for a district match against Franklin Simpson at Kenny Perry’s Country Creek Golf Course. The boys were looking to go 3-0 in matches on the season. This match would be the toughest they have had so far this season.

The entire team went for this match, so the varsity and JV boys played as did Emma Fitzgerald, who is the lone representative for the girls.

The boys varsity won their match to go 3-0 by a score of 145-147. This is the lowest tam golf score in LCHS history in match play, the boys had four players shoot in the 30’s with two of those shooting under par and another just missing the 30’s.

The varsity was led in scoring by Braden Engler and Karson Rodgers, who both shot 35(-1), Davis Switzer’s 36(E), Hunter Holloway’s 39(+3) and Riley Shepherd’s 41(+5).

The JV was in action also against Franklin’s JV. The JV fell by a score of 188-191 but had several players shoot some of their lowest scores to date. The JV was led by Jackson Williams’ 45, Zach Krohn’s 46, Philip Thompson’s 50, Keatin Robertson’s 50, Mason Logsdon’s 52 and Sam Britt’s 53.

Emma Fitzgerald also competed and fired a 42(+6) against Franklin’s two representatives.

Will Rosser is the Cougar golf coach.
