The Penrod sisters led the Russellville Lady Panthers in a strong season-starting showing Tuesday during  a 5-1 road win at Warren East.

Sophomore Chloe ('Red') Penrod pitched the complete seven innings, allowing the lone run on six hits and just one walk while striking out two Lady Raisers. She also doubled, singled, scored a run and drove in two runs on offense. Her double was the winners’ only extra-base hit.

The only Lady Panther with more hits that Chloe was her sister, senior Madison ("Matt Matt") Penrod. She had three hits and an RBI. Ja’eda Poindexter had two hits with Rayleigh Roberts and Akiah Bell adding one each. All three of them scored a run.

Roberts and Mariyah Merriweather each stole a base on the team’s only attempts.

Also playing defense in the win for Coach Ryan Davenport were Reese Croslin, Kayelynn Davenport and seventh grader Alexis Triplett.
