The softball teams from the Land of Logan will be favored today when they play important district games which affect tournament seeding.

The Russellville Lady Panthers will entertain Todd Central at 5:30. Coach Ryan Davenport’s team has beaten the Lady Rebels with ease twice already this spring. They won at Elkton 12-4 and then 13-3 in the All A regional at Cumberland County. That tournament win doesn’t count toward seeding.

RHS has a 16-8 record and is rated as the sixth best team in the Fourth Region by the KHSAA. The Lady Rebels are 7-9 and ranked 12th. They are 0-2 in district standings, having lost 12-2 to Logan.

Coach Gary Gettings’ Lady Cougars are 18-3, having won 10 straight games. They are rated second in the region, according to the KHSAA RPI. They are 2-0 in the district with wins over Russellville and Franklin (7-4). Coach Todd Caudill’s Lady Cats are 10-8, including 4-4 in the region and 1-1 in the district.
