Russellville’s new wrestling team officially hit the mat Thursday night at Christian County for a JV dual meet. Three Panthers all got the pin on their opponent.
They were Taven Harris in the 165-pound class, Reed Parrish in the 150, and Antonio Ramirez in the 157. “The rest did amazing and have bright futures ahead,” says Coach Jeramy Rust
“Back to work after this winter storm to get ready for Fort Campbell and Fort Knox Tuesday at Fort Campbell,” says Rust, who was a high wrestler in Florida before his parents, Don and Debbie Stevenson Rust, moved back to Logan County for his senior year. Since there was no wrestling here, he played football for Logan County. Now both schools are starting a wrestling program.
After that Tuesday road trip, the Panthers will prepare for their first home meet with Warren County Wrestling this Saturday at 10 a.m.
