Eleven Cougar archers place in Logan Shootout, 5 of them with firsts

Logan County High School Archery hosted their Cougar Winter Shootout Jan 17-18.  There were 24 Kentucky schools that shot over a two-day tournament.  

First places were recorded by Phillip Thompson, Noah Carnal, Jace Coles, Haley Henson, and Iliana Cornelius.

Bullseye competition at 10yd/15yd:

Phillip Thompson shot a 293 Personal Record (PR).  He placed 1st in High School Male and 1st in 12th grade Male.

Elizabeth Gilliam shot 276 and placed 3rd in 11th grade Female.

Trey Costello shot 275 (PR) and placed 2nd in 10th grade Male.

Caden Walton shot 272 (PR) and placed 2nd in 9th grade Male.

Also shooting a personal record in Bullseye: Carson Beachy, Maya Mayhugh, Sianna McHargue, Jace Johnson, Jordan Watkins, Jackson Baker, and Lexi Bromm.  

3D competition: 

Philip Thompson shot 282 and placed 1st in 12th grade Male and placed 2nd in High School Male.

Noah Carnal shot 280 (PR) and placed 1st in 9th Grade Male and 3rd in High School Male.

Jace Coles shot 280 (PR) and placed 1st in 10th Grade Male and 4th High School Male.

Haley Henson shot 275 and placed 1st in 11th Grade Female and 2nd High School Female.

Elizabeth Gilliam shot 269 and placed 3rd in 11th Grade Female and 5th High School Female.

Maya Mayhugh shot 268 (PR) and placed 3rd in 12th grade girls. 

Iliana Cornelius shot 268 (PR) and placed 1st in 9th Grade Girls.

Austin Brown shot 268 and placed 2nd in 10th grade boys.

Also shooting a personal record in 3D competition: Carson Beachy, Addi Yates, Morgan Lenker, and Jackson Baker.  

Logan County HS is ranked #24 in Kentucky for Bullseye State Qualifying Tournaments. 

Logan County HS is ranked #10 in the state for 3D State Qualifiers!

The tournament was a huge success thanks to our coaches, archers and parents who all worked hard to put this together!
