Russellville will play host Franklin-Simpson, and Logan County will take on Todd Central in both divisions of the 13th District Basketball Tournament next week, but they will be on different nights. Having all four schools play the first two nights is an athletic director’s dream in pairings, in terms of ticket sales.

In the girls games, which start at 6 p.m., number 1 Franklin-Simpson (22-2 overall, 13-0 region, 6-0 district) will play Russellville (1-24, 0-15, 0-6) on Monday. Tuesday, number two Todd (13-11, 4-5, 3-3) meets Logan (14-14, 8-10, 3-3).

In the boys games, top-seeded Logan County (18-10 overall, 8-4 region, 5-1 district) will face Todd Central (2-26, 1-8, 1-13) Monday. On Tuesday, F-S (9-13, 7-7, 5-1) will play third-seeded RHS (6-20 overall, 1-13 region, 1-5 district)

The championship games, which begin at 7 p.m., will feature the girls Thursday and the boys on Friday.

Last Friday, the boys bracket was thrown into a pair of ties. Previously undefeated-in-the-district Logan County Cougars lost to Franklin, while Russellville, which had dominated Todd Central three weeks earlier, lost to the Rebels this time/

That meant the two ties for seeding were broken by the Kentucky High School Athletic Association’s RPI rankings.

The Cougars are rated ninth among the 17 boys teams in the Fourth Region while Franklin-Simpson is 13th. Russellville is 16th and Todd 17th with their lone regional win against each other.

So, Logan is the number one seed in the district, Franklin number two, RHS number three, and Todd Central four.

Logan County Athletic Director Todd Adler has announced the following tournament information:

*Admission- $8 card only at the gate (No Cash). 5 & under are Free
