Panthers play multiple roles in season opener

A game that was close at the start turned into a one-sided disappointment for Russellville fans Friday, but several Panthers had multiple chart-topping statistics in a 45-6 loss to Daviess County in the Lewisburg Bank Bowl at Logan County High School.

Several Panthers were among the leaders in more than one category. They were as follows:

Jerius Coleman: first in passes completed (11) and passing yards (209)); second in defensive fumbles caused (2), solo tackles (6) and total tackles (7)

Labryan Nourse: firsts in solo tackles (7), sacks (1), tackles for losses (3) and total tackles (8); seconds in passes caught (3) and receiving yards (67))

JaCoveon Temple-Dickerson: firsts in passe caught (6) and receiving yards (87); tied for sixth in tackles (4)

Jamarion Gardner: firsts in rushing yards (11). Touchdowns (1), points (6), interceptions (1)

Amarus Morrow: seconds in passes caught (2) and receiving yards (55); third in solo tackles (5); tied for fourth in total tackles (5)

Anthony Allen: first in fumble recoveries (2); tied for fourth in solo tackles (4) and in total tackles (5)

Takato Johnson: first in defensive fumbles forced (1); tied for second in tackles for loss (1)

Kendarius Boyd: tied for second in tackles for loss (1);tied for sixth in tackles (4)

Tiwaun Gordon: second in defensive fumbles caused (1); tied for sixth  in solo tackles (4) and total tackles (6)
