Coaches Ethan Meguiar and Adam Decker have released statistics on the Logan County Cougar baseball team following 31 games.

The Cougars are 6-0 in the 13th District and go into the tournament next week as the defending champions and top seed. They are 21-9 overall with one game suspended.

Five players are hitting .315 or better, three have scored 36 or more runs in 31 games, and four have 22 or more runs batted in. Ryan Harper is the power leader with seven home runs, two triples, seven doubles, and 39 RBIs. The senior, who is a four-year starter, has scored 33 runs, one more than classmate Dustin Nash, who is also one of the top pitchers.

Junior Dustin Cartas, a five-year starter as a junior, is near the top of most categories, and is sophomore Ian Woodall. Gage Hales has contributed in most offensive categories.

Thomas Miller joins Nash in dominating most of the pitching statistics, although freshman Caleb Bruner is having a steady season, including an impressive 1.36 earned run average in almost 26 innings.

The Cougars open tournament play Monday at 5 p.m. at Russellville's Kelly Russell Field against Todd Central. Second-seeded Franklin-Simpson plays the host Panthers in the second game. The championship game will be played Tuesday at 6 p.m.
