With Ryan Basham pitching a 3-hitter, the Logan County Cougars blasted visiting Todd Central 12-1 Tuesday for their 10th win of the season and their second district win in as many starts.

Four Cougars reached base three times and three more got on twice. Gage Hales singled twice and walked; Ian Woodall tripled, doubled and walked; Caleb Bruner singled and walked twice; Cody Hunt singled, walked and reached on an error; Dustin Cartas tripled and doubled, Daniel Beaty doubled and singled; and Jacob Wood singled and walked. Joe Holliday was hit by a pitch while Luke Woodall and Arik Haynes scored.

The Cougars scored six runs in the fourth inning. Cartas led off with a triple. After an out, Woodall tripled him in. Bruner doubled him in, Hunt singled, Beaty doubled, Wood and Hales both singled, Holliday was hit by a pitch, and Cartas hit a sacrifice fly to left.

Hales, Cartas, Woodall and Hunt each drove in two runs. Haynes scored 3 runs as the courtesy runner for Woodall while Bruner and Hunt each scored 2.

Cole Hyde picked up two of the hits Basham allowed with Loren Linder doubling for the third. Basham struck out 7 and walked only 1. That walk went to Connor Cole with two outs in the fourth.  Coach Mark Brooks’ Rebels fell to 0-12 on the season.

Coach Ethan Meguiar’s Cougars became the first team in the region to win 10 games. They are tied with Franklin-Simpson and Monroe County for the fewest losses with four.
