Panthers pound Patriots at AC-S

The Russellville Panthers banged out 15 hits and scored 12 runs while Jacob Procter was pitching a five-hitter as Coach Greg Shelton’s team won at Allen County-Scottsville 12-2 Tuesday.

Wesley Stratton had four hits, T.K. Hampton three, and Barrett Croslin, Corey Wright and Procter two each. The other hits were by Zack Denney and Colby Nichols. Croslin and Procter each doubled. Nichols hit a sacrifice fly.

Croslin scored three runs, Denney, Procter and Nichols two each, and Dalton Clark, Stratton and Hampton one each. Stratton and Nichols each had a pair of RBIs with Croslin, Denney, Clark and Hampton driving in one each.

Croslin, Clark and Nichols each stole a base. Clark walked twice off the four pitchers AC-S Coach Tim Stamper used.

Procter pitched the complete game five-hit win. Neither of the runs was earned. He didn’t walk a single Patriot and struck out six.

Shelton’s team improved its record to 15-15. AC-S fell to 11-15.

The Panthers are scheduled to close out the regular season Saturday at 1 p.m. against visiting Madisonville-North Hopkins.
