With Logan County trailing 3-2 in the second inning and Warren North having two runners on base, Macon Barrow came on to pitch, not only stopping the bleeding but pitching five shutout innings on two hits and six strikeouts.  He faced only one batter over the minimum in the final two innings. That was key in the 9-10 stars’ 7-4 win Sunday, running their postseason record to 2-0.

Still Logan was trailing 4-3 in the fifth inning when Zach Yates and Barrow singled, and Blake Wood walked to load the bases with two outs. Braxton Baptiste came in to run for Yates and scored on a passed ball, just beating the catcher to the plate. That tied the game. Then Preston Hurt and Jacob Burton added infield singles to give Logan the lead for keeps.

Logan added an insurance run in the top of the sixth when Trevor Scott was hit by a pitched, advanced twice on passed balls, and then scored on Yates’ ground ball.

Jarrett Sears, Jesse Price and Wood also added hits as the team had seven different players get a hit in the game at Franklin.
