WKU will reveal new football uniforms for the 2013 season on July 18, 2013 during the Big Red Rally & Reveal, presented by Alumni Hall, at Greenwood Mall in Bowling Green at 6 p.m.. The new uniforms are made by WKU’s apparel provider Russell Athletic.

The event is being held in the jcpenny Court at Greenwood Mall.

“I think Hilltopper Nation will really be excited with our new uniforms," said Director of Athletics Todd Stewart. "This new look has been designed exclusively for WKU by Russell Athletic in conjunction with our coaches and staff and will maintain many of the traditions that are rooted within our rich history, while also adding some unique modern trends. These uniforms, along with our new helmet, will represent the bold and aggressive mindset that symbolizes the WKU football program."

The event will begin at 6 p.m. with the unveiling of the new uniforms. Following the unveiling of the new uniforms, WKU head coach Bobby Petrino, select assistant coaches and special guests will be on hand to sign autographs from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. A question and answer session with the assembled members of the coaching staff will follow until 8 p.m. WKU Cheerleaders, Topperettes and Big Red will also be in attendance at the event.

“We at Russell Athletic are really excited to work with our partner, WKU, to introduce their new football uniforms,” said Senior Vice President of Russell Athletic Gary Barfield. “We feel these cutting edge designs deliver Russell Athletic's best to Hilltopper Nation.”

The first 500 fans will receive a free WKU/Russell drawstring bag at the event. Fans will also have the chance to pick up the new football schedule poster for the 2013 season.

WKU previously released new chrome helmets featuring the traditional red towel logo on March 29, 2013 at the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce Coffee Hour at the Corvette Museum. The chrome helmets will be paired with the new uniforms for use by Petrino’s 2013 Hilltopper squad. The helmet features a reflective, chrome finish and is paired with a red stripe across the crown of the helmet and a red facemask.

WKU will debut the new uniforms and helmet on the field on Aug. 31 when the Hilltoppers face Kentucky at LP Field in Nashville at 6 p.m.
