Olmstead won regional championships in both middle school and elementary school archery competition during the regional meet held at Logan County High School earlier this month. Additionally, Brett Knifley is the girls elementary 4th Region champion.
It was the second straight regional championship for the middle school team. Buddy Wright is the coach with Jason Hayes and Debra Harper as assistants.
In addition to Knifley, individuals also medaling in the tournament are as follows: Ryland Nichols finished 3rd and Ezra McIntosh finished 4th in the boys elementary division. Jaden Hayes finished 3rd in the boys middle school division. Finally, in the girls middle school division, Haleigh Duncan finished 2nd, Paige Baldwin finished 3rd, Haley Dixon finished 4th, and Arika Wright finished 5th.

Both teams will compete in the Kentucky State Tournament on March 18, at the Louisville Convention Center.
It has been a great year in sports for Olmstead. In addition to the archery success, the volleyball team won the Logan County tournament, as did the girls basketball team. It was the fourth straight county championship for the basketball team. Wright coaches volleyball as well as archery. Daniel Alvis and Chris Wilcutt are the girls basketball coaches.
