The Logan County High School Bass Club completed a successful first season under coach Sgt. Major Joe Brockman with two teams qualifying for the State Tournament. John Wilson Coots-Zack McElfresh and Jon-Clarc Todd-Brennan Summers were the two teams representing Logan at the state finals.

Other team members were Jacob Arnold, Ty Houchins, Alexis Bell, Kayla Hurst, Zack McKinney, Shaun Manning, Jerred Long, Jackson Campbell and Thomas Poole.

The teams were assisted by the following boat captains: Bill Trembley, Charlie Plummer, John Shakelford, Joe Jenkins, John Coots, Mike Kirby, Mike Gilliam, Moe Hazel, Puggy DeBerry, Richard Trembley, Ricky Thurston, Shane Hayes, Skip Skipworth, Steve Watkins and John Ferris.

J. B. Hunt presented the top anglers with custom made rods for their use.

The club would like to make special recognition to the major sponsors—First Southern National Bank, Ventra Plastics and Gerald Printing—for their financial support.

Plans are underway for greater student participation and sponsors for the coming season.
