Large numbers part of Cougar Run

Logan County High School Cross Country hosted over 435 runners and their parents Saturday for the annual Cougar Run. “What a great day it was,” says Coach Greg Howard. 

“I would like to give a special thanks to all our parents for another fine meet help at LCHS! Our parents are the best. Thanks to all our sponsors that made this meet possible! I can’t wait to host the Western Kentucky Meet of Champions on Saturday, Oct. 25.

Madisonville-North Hopkins and Greenwood were the top programs. M-NH won the boys varsity and finished as runner-up in the girls while Greenwood won the girls division with Madisonville second.

Rounding out the top five among the boys were Daviess County, Warren Central and Fort Campbell while Glasgow, Butler County and Forth Campbell

Also competing in varsity were Christian County and Franklin-Simpson, along with host Logan.

“We had runners gone on Fall Break but we gave our all and represented our school very well!” Howard says.

Madisonville-North Hopkins won the middle school boys title with College View second, Owensboro Senior High third and Greenwood fourth. College View captured the middle school title with Owensboro as runner-up and Greenwood third. Also competing in middle school races were Glasgow, F-S, Warren Central. University Heights Academy, Christian County and Saints Peter & Paul.

Christian County placed first in elementary boys, with Saints Peter and Paul second, Butler County third and Owensboro fourth. Owensboro took the youngest girls winners were Owensboro, Glasgow and Saints Peter and Paul. Greenwood, UHA. Butler also compete in the girls.
