One of the most popular athletic and social events of every year in Logan County begins Thursday when the Logan County Middle School Basketball Tournament is held at Logan County High School.
This year both gymnasiums will be in use, since the schedule was changed to allow students to compete in both academics and athletics.
The Adairville Cardinals are the defending champions of the boys division. The Olmstead Lady Rams added another championship to the school’s trophy case in 2014.
Both Olmstead teams are top seeded this year, and both Auburn teams are ranked second. The OMS teams don’t play a first-round game because of their seeding.
Thursday in the main gym, the Auburn Lady Tigers will play the third-seeded Adairville Lady Cardinals at 6, and Tiger boys will go again fourth-seeded Lewisburg at 7:30. In the auxiliary (volleyball) gym, the third-seeded Lewisburg Lady Rangers will face fifth-seeded Chandlers at 6 with the third-seeded Cardinals taking on the fifth-seeded Chandlers Bears at 7:30.
Friday, the Olmstead girls will play the Lewisburg-Chandlers winner at 6, and the Ramblers will go against the Adairville-Chandlers winner at 7:30, both in the main gym.
