The Logan County Lady Cougars won the championship of the Warren East Raider Invitational held on the track at Western Kentucky University Saturday. Coach Greg Howard called it “an outstanding victory over many of the great teams around” and said the Lady Cougars’ scoring “came from all over the track.”

“After all these years of having great guys teams, it’s time to pronounce how great are girls are! Our boys are back in form after a couple of years of struggling, but now these girls are in the limelight!” Howard said.

The boys finished ninth overall and had several young men fill in for sick athletes.” Our boys have been battling sickness for about a week and I hope they are over it and ready for regionals next week in Elizabethtown,” Howard noted.

Both teams will compete in their last regular season meet of the year in Muhlenberg County Friday night.

“The improvement by both squads is astonishing! Our throwers continue to break their own personal records every time they compete. Joe Brockman continues to push each of them daily, and it shows!” Howard said.
