Jackson Campbell, the starting catcher for the Logan County Cougars this spring as a sophomore, has been selected to play in the PBR Futures Games in Indianapolis July 29-Aug. 1.

Campbell recently attended the PBR Showcase at the University of Kentucky where he competed with over 120 other invitees in catching and outfield drills. Based on his individual times in the 60-yard dash (finishing third in 6.83 seconds), catching velocity (fifth with 73 mph) and POP time (first at 1.86 seconds, setting a new state record).

The son of Jason and Jessica Ferris Campbell will be one of only two catchers representing Kentucky in this prestigious national tournament.

Among his 22 hits this year, he had five doubles, drove in 10 runs, scored 13 times, and had a slugging percentage of .321 and on-base percentage of .390. He led the team with 17 walks, six more than any other Cougar, and he was second in sacrifice flies with two.

On defense he led the team with 177 put outs and was tops among the regulars in fielding percentage at .989.
