Russellville and Logan County have drawn opposite brackets from each other in the 13th District Basketball Tournaments.
Logan County’s teams will face host Franklin-Simpson in the first round of the tournament Monday, Feb. 23 in both the girls and boys divisions.
Russellville will take on Todd Central in both games the following night.
The girls championship game will be Thursday, Feb. 26 with the boys finals on that Friday.
The girls pairings had already been established based on district play with F-S first, Todd second, RHS third and Logan fourth. The top and last seeds play each other.
A pair of ties remained after the regular season in the boys bracket with Russellville and Franklin having tied for first with 5-1 records. Logan and Todd were tied for third with 1-5 marks.
Franklin and Todd won coin flips during the pre-tournament meeting at Franklin Wednesday night. That meant F-S is the number one seed and Todd Central the number three. So the pairings are identical in both the boys and the girls divisions.
First-round girls games begin at 6:30 p.m. with the boys game to follow, probably about 8. The championship games will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 per person per session.
Regional tournaments will be held at Diddle Arena on the Western Kentucky University campus during the first week of March.
