For the second consecutive week, WKU quarterback Brandon Doughty earned multiple weekly honors for his outstanding performance as he was named a Manning Star of the Week and a Davey O’Brien Performer of the Week on Monday.

This marks the second game in-a-row that Doughty has been honored by the two awards and third time this season as he also gained recognition after the Louisiana Tech win.

In the triumph at Rice, Doughty led WKU to its biggest margin of victory over a conference opponent in its FBS era as he threw for 409 yards and four touchdowns. He has thrown for over 400 yards in six of his last seven games and four straight, while he also just missed throwing for 350 yards by halftime for the third consecutive game as he finished the opening half with 343 yards and four scores.

After just five games, Doughty is tied for fifth in school history for touchdown passes in a single season (15) and has thrown for the seventh-most yards in one season with 2,000, with both marks leading Conference USA. For the season, he ranks second in FBS in passing yards and passing yards per game (400.0).

Doughty and the Hilltoppers will host long-time rival Middle Tennessee this Saturday at Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium, with the game being broadcast nationally on Fox Sports Network at 11 a.m.
