Logan County boys soccer will start an indoor soccer league in January as the team and Coach Eric Evans work to build on the success the program enjoyed this fall. League matches will be played in the LCHS Auxiliary Gym or at area churches on dates the gym is already in use.

The 2015 Cougars put together a 13-8-2 overall record and finished as district runner-up for the second straight season. The Cougars were the third highest scoring team in what Evans calls “one of the toughest regions in the state.” Senior Sedale Shannon led the team in scoring with 23 goals and 10 assists. He was named to the All-District team.

At the end-of-season awards ceremony, Shannon was named Offensive MVP.

Defensive MVP was junior Noah Bray, who was selected both All-District and All-region.

A third All-District performer, junior Matthew Edgar, received the Cougar Award, “for being a leader and also doing well in the season.”

Co-Most Improved Players were senior Bryson Peters and sophomore Evan Hughes.

“We have a very strong team coming back next season and look forward to another excellent year,” says Coach Evans.

Seniors in addition to Shannon and Peters were Zach Caudill, Kenny Cornist and Logan Houchens.

Anyone interested in playing in the indoor league should contact the coach at eric.evans@logan.kyschools.us.
