Three Hilltoppers from the No. 24 WKU Football team will take part in collegiate all-star games on Saturday as Brandon Doughty and Jared Dangerfield team up once more in the East-West Shrine Game, while Prince Charles Iworah will compete in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl.

Now in its 91st  year, the East-West Shrine Game kicks off at 3 p.m. CT from St. Petersburg, Fla., and can be seen on NFL Network.

Doughty and Dangerfield combined for 151 receptions, 1,669 yards and 19 touchdowns in their two seasons together on The Hill. They pair up one final time as collegians on the West Team in Saturday’s game, coached by former Hawai’i and SMU Head Coach June Jones. Doughty holds every passing record in Hilltopper history while Dangerfield’s 69 receptions in 2014 were a school record at the time. The receiver’s 151 career catches are fifth-most all-time and his 82 catches as a senior are the second-most in a single season.

On the west coast, the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl kicks off at 5 p.m. CT from the StubHub Center in Los Angeles, Calif., and can be seen on ESPN2.

Iworah, a two-year starter at corner who started 27 consecutive games over the past two seasons, will wear No. 30 for the American side, coached by former Green Bay Packers and Super Bowl Champion Mike Holmgren. Iworah’s position coach, Darrell Green, was a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2008 and was also a track and field star off the gridiron, much like Iworah, who has drawn interest from many NFL teams due to his speed. Green won two Super Bowls with the Washington Redskins.

The Nashville native finished his WKU career with five interceptions, tied for sixth on the WKU career chart and 16 passes defended, tied for third-most all-time.

WKU has sent a pair of players to the Shrine game each of the past three seasons as Cam Thomas and Cameron Clemmons took part in last year’s game, while Xavius Boyd and Andrew Jackson participated the year prior. Former Hilltopper running back Bobby Rainey is also an alum of the game. Iworah is the first Hilltopper to participate in the NFLPA game since its inception in 2012.
