With a complete team effort, the Russellville Panthers blew out both Allen County-Scottsville and South Warren on the road on consecutive nights Thursday and Friday.

First came a 72-48 dismantling of Allen County-Scottsville. Coach Phil Todd’s team led 18-13 after a quarter and added to that margin every quarter.

The Panthers came within a point of putting five players in double figures. Pedro Bradshaw scored 17, Jacob Naylor 14, and Jaylyn McMurry and Micah Naylor 10 each. Jason Mitchell just missed double digits with nine points.

RHS hit only 11 of 16 free throws, but Bradshaw was 7 of 9 at the line and Jacob Naylor 3 of 3. Naylor also hit a trio of 3-pointers.

Lucas Wood led Coach Hilton Isable’s Patriots, who fell to 5-15, with 12 points.

Against South Warren, the Panthers led 15-7 after a quarter. The Spartans moved a little closer at 26-21, but Todd’s team outscored their hosts 15-4 the rest of the quarter, highlighted by Jacob Naylor hitting a 3-pointer immediately after a timeout and Bradshaw scoring the last five points of the half, including another trey.

The Spartans (8-12) pulled to within nine, but Mitchell, who scored a game-high 22 points, hit a 3-pointer, and South never threatened again. RHS led 58-42 after three quarters.

The fourth quarter was all Russellville. The Panthers scored the first 19 points of the period to lead 77-42 before Matco Boswell connected with 49 seconds remaining in the game.

Bradshaw scored 19 points while playing only a minute of the fourth quarter. Coach Todd went deep into his bench, but the subs responded. Deshaun Mason scored five quick points, sandwiched between goals by Ricky Bellamy and Devin Quarles.

The Panther defense played a key role. They had forced South into eight turnovers early in the second quarter while committing only one themselves. The Spartans finished with 23 turnovers.

Dayton Gumm and Brandon Stacker scored most of the points for Coach Tony Hopper’s team with 16 each.

The Panthers (14-4) play at Franklin-Simpson Tuesday in a doubleheader to be carried over WRUS.

The Lady Spartans (15-5) beat Russellville 75-41 with Amaya Lasley scoring 32. Coach Calvin Head’s Lady Panthers had led 9-3, but Lasley piled up 25 points by halftime to go up 39-22. Timitryl Patterson had 17 for SWHS.

Gabbie Poirier scored 11 and Devonya Bryant 10 for the Lady Panthers (10-10).
