First baseman Kaleb Justice and pitcher Tommy Krohn led the Logan County Cougars to a 14-4 win over visiting Cumberland County Tuesday.

Justice homered, doubled and singled, driving in four runs. Krohn pitched a complete five-inning game, giving up only two earned runs. 

Coach Ethan Meguiar’s Cougars scored 12 runs in the third inning. Justice homered, Nick Wooden doubled in a pair of runs, Jackson Campbell singled in two runs, Justice doubled in another two runs, Third Bell had an RBI single, and Wooden got his second hit of the inning. Bradley Taylor hit the Cougars’ second homer of the inning.

Taylor joined Justice with three hits while Campbell, Bell and Wooden had two each. Also getting hits were Austin Rayno, Koby Wall and Ashton Ross. Ross’ hit was a double. He and Bell were hit by pitches.

Justice drove in four runs with Taylor and Wooden getting three RBIs each.

Rayno, Campbell, Taylor, Justice, Bell and Wall all scored two runs.

Krohn gave up four runs on four hits and two walks while striking out nine Panthers.

Kyle Stephenson got three of Cumberland’s four hits and drove in all four runs. He homered and doubled. Jeremiah Logan got the only other hit for the visitors. Andrew Patterson took the loss on the mound.

The Cougars ran their region-leading record to 9-1. Franklin-Simpson, Bowling Green and South Warren have each won seven games. Franklin’s only loss is to the Cougars.
