In order to insure Logan County to be well represented on Wednesday, March 5 at the 50th anniversary observance of the State Civil Rights Act March in Frankfort, we extend the invitation to all of Russellville-Logan County residents, parents, students, elected officials, churches, organizations, clubs, ministers, seniors, businesses, all ethnic groups and community members.

Each person and group is to notify us if you want to ride with us on the bus, follow us in your car/van, or meet us there.

High school, middle and elementary students with their parents are eligible to go, providing that the parents fill out the proper forms in order for students to receive excused absences by the extended deadline, Feb. 25. Those forms are available at the school offices.

Charter bus transportation is provided at no cost for those who sign up.  We have over 100 signups and we need to secure another bus.

By being assigned to this area, we envision Logan County making an outstanding presence at this commemorative statewide celebration.

Donors can make a tax-deductible donation for the transportation, food and all efforts for this event by donating to the travel fund of Community Projects, Inc. for the 50th Anniversary March on Frankfort. Mail payment to First Southern National Bank, P.O Box 118, Russellville, Ky. 42276.

Ron Barbe, general manager of Ventra Plastics, has secured one full 56 passenger charter bus at $1,500 for the students. He stated, "We were able to secure one bus for this great educational opportunity for the students of Logan County because of our commitment to education in our community."

Your immediate response  in contacting us would be appreciated. For more information and seat reservations, call the Nebletts at 270-847-8270 or email
