This has been a very busy week/weekend for our Russellville Panthers.

BETA

The RHS Senior BETA Club traveled to Lexington this past week for the state BETA convention. Below are specific results shared by club sponsor, Mrs. Tanya Mullen:

The Russellville Senior Beta Club fared well at the state convention in Lexington January 22-24.

Fernanda Rodriguez placed first in Digital Art.

Kristin Vanzant placed second in Sculpture.

Dilishia Thomas, Madison Morrow and Carleigh Phillips placed 5th in the Club Banner competition.

Living Literature, Robotics and Special Talent made an excellent showing as did those taking academic tests.

Fernanda and Kristin qualify to compete at the National Convention in Disney World this summer.

I am very proud of the hard work and effort given by our outstanding young men and women. I am also grateful for the much needed assistance from our chaperones: Kelley Paul, Bro. Rodney Skipworth and Jeremy Bivins. These men and women helped to make our students' experience a memorable one!

ARCHERY
The Russellville Panther Archery team was in action at home this week during their annual tournament. Over 31 different schools was represented as reported by Coach Jeramy Rust, who is very grateful and thankful for all the volunteer help and support with this weekend’s event. The archery team will be in action again this weekend as they continue to work toward qualifying for the state tournament. Good luck to all of our Panther Archers!

BASKETBALL
The RHS Panther Basketball team, accompanied by our RHS Cheerleaders, left on Wednesday for competition in the All A State Basketball Tournament in Frankfort. The Panthers easily handled their first two opponents, East Ridge and Mayfield, to earn a spot in the state semifinals before falling in overtime to Newport Catholic. Pedro Bradshaw and Jacob Naylor were chosen as all-tournament team members and recognized at the end of yesterday’s game.
