Each fall, Logan County High School welcomes new faces to its educational community. This year, along with new students, several faculty and staff members will join the Cougar family. These additions will provide skills and expertise that should prove to enhance the school’s overall strengths throughout our community and in curricular disciplines across the sciences, social sciences, and humanities.
2017-2018 new faculty and staff members:
Lisa Cunkelman, Department of History & Social Sciences, holds a BS in Social Studies Education from Millersville University and is currently working on her MEd from the Penn State University- World Campus. Lisa comes to LCHS with experience teaching social studies at both the middle and high school levels, most recently at Lee Early College in Sanford, N.C. Away from work she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
Jordan Dobbs, Department of English & Humanities, holds a BA in English for Secondary Education from Western Kentucky University. Jordan did part of his student teaching at LCHS last year and followed that experience with a semester term serving as a long-term substitute teacher at Franklin-Simpson Middle School. His interests away from work include camping, hiking, kayaking, sports, music and literature.
Katherine Fletcher, Department of History & Social Sciences, holds a BA in History. For the past 11 years she has worked in corporate management and looks forward to getting back to working in the education field. Her interests include camping and hiking.
Jason Hayes, Department of Arts & Humanities, holds a BFA from Austin Peay State University and a MAT from Morehead State University. Jason comes to LCHS with 10 years of teaching experience. Interests outside teaching are Hot Wheels, Disney Cars, baseball and volleyball.
Amanda Glover, Front office clerk, holds an associate degree in Health Education from Western Kentucky University. Amanda is one of the first persons that visitors and students meet upon arriving to LCHS. She brings with her three years of experience working at a local family dentistry. Away from school, she likes working on the family farm.
Bridgette Hughes, Department of Family & Consumer Sciences, holds a BS in Family & Consumer Sciences Education and MA in Secondary Education from Western Kentucky University, and received her Rank I Certificate in Supervisor of Instruction from the University of the Cumberlands. Bridgette comes to LCHS with six years of experience. Away from the classroom she enjoys quilting and playing with her one and three year old daughters.
Tasha May, front office clerk, holds a BA in General Studies with a minor in Communicatios from Western Kentucky University. She brings with her 13 years of experience working as a receptionist/ secretary at the Auburn School. Tasha’s interests away from school include her faith and family.
Nick Neiman, Department of Mathematics, holds a BS in Middle School Mathematics and is currently working on his MAT at the University of the Cumberlands. Nick returns to LCHS with three years of teaching experience. He lists all sports as his outside interest.
Breanna White, Business Manager, holds a BS in Community and Leadership Development from the University of Kentucky. This will be her first time in this role; past experiences include a position in guest relations, and she served as a resident adviser at UK. Breanna lists reading, hiking, traveling, and time with family and friends as her interests away from LCHS.
Qiang Zhang, Department of Languages and Humanities, holds a BA from Henan Normal University in Xinxiang City, China. Qiang will teach Chinese at LCHS; he brings nine years of experience teaching English in China. Interests outside teaching include music, traveling and movies.
Meaghan Ritchie, Department of Exceptional Education, holds BS from Western Kentucky University in Exceptional Education LBD & MSD. She comes to LCHS with two years of experience. Meaghan lists traveling, reading and theatre as outside interests.
Melissa Reader, Department of Exceptional Education, holds a degree in accounting from Western Kentucky University. At LCHS she will serve as an MSD aid. Melissa brings with her eight years of experience.
