The Principal Selection Committee has announced that based on the criteria established by the council, with significant input from stakeholders and following the identified process, the committee feels it has found the most qualified applicant to serve as principal of Russellville Middle School.

On April 27, Cassie Reding accepted the offer to become the principal of RMS. Reding has been the interim principal of RMS since January, shortly after former principal Cameron Jackson accepted a position in Central Kentucky.

Reding began her teaching career at Todd County School District in 2008, and began working for Russellville Independent School District in 2014. She has coached basketball at all levels for Russellville. She served as an Instructional Coach for grades K-12 and later became the District Instructional Facilitator. Reding has also served as a Teacher Fellow for the Kentucky and National Hope Street Group Teacher Fellows (a non-profit education policy advocacy group), and on Commissioner Pruitt’s Teacher Advisory Council.

“I am excited for the opportunity to continue serving the students of Russellville Independent Schools,” said Reding. “I love our Russellville Middle School family, and I am blessed to be a part of this community. There’s no place I’d rather be.”

Reding is a National Board Certified Teacher. She received her Bachelor’s of Arts In Education and Master’s of Science in School Counseling from Murray State. She also received her M.A. in Educational Administration (Principal P-12) from Campbellsville University.

“Ms. Reding is a great advocate for kids and is a natural leader,” said Superintendent Larrt Begley. “I couldn’t be more excited for the whole Russellville community. Russellville Middle School is blessed to have her on board and will excel under her guidance.”
