The First Congressional District Republican Party announced the newly elected officers following their recently held, successful district convention at the Logan County Extension Office.

Valerie Hughes of Adairville is one of the eight officers. Only seven of the district’s 35 counties have a resident in a leadership role.

“Congratulations to our newly elected First Congressional District Republican Party leaders," Congressman James Comer said. "I'm looking forward to working with them to help Republican candidates continue winning up and down the ballot and advancing common sense conservative principles.”

District chairs and officers preside over the Republican Party Congressional District committee in their area. They provide leadership and oversight of fundraising, event planning and other grassroots organizing of the county parties that make up their congressional district. The First Congressional District includes all or part of 35 counties across West and Central Kentucky.

“I’m honored to have the privilege to continue leading Republicans in the First Congressional District,” First Congressional District Chairman Greg DeLancey said. “I’d also like to congratulate our new officers and recognize how proud we are that this leadership team comes from communities all across our district. Along the Ohio River and the Western Coal Fields to the Jackson Purchase, First Congressional District Republicans are united and motivated to keep winning elections and beating the Democrats up and down the ballot.”

Below are the newly elected congressional district chairs and officers, who will serve a four-year term as provided for by Republican Party of Kentucky rules:
