As part of our commitment to becoming a “District of Choice,” Russellville Independent School District is proud to introduce The Golden Panther Award, a new initiative designed to recognize the dedication and excellence of our staff.

This program celebrates the remarkable contributions of both certified and classified employees who go above and beyond in their service to our students, families, and community.

At the school board meeting Tuesday night, Stevenson Elementary School fifth grade teacher Holly Behm and Stevenson cafeteria staff member Janie Schock were given the FIRST ever Golden Panther Awards. The presentation was initiated by Russellville Schools COO Robin Cornelius, and it gave the staff members that nominated them a chance to show their appreciation to their colleagues. Each recipient of The Golden Panther Award also received a $100 prize, generously sponsored by Houchens Benefits Group.

Here’s what the nominators had to say about the recipients.

Stevenson fifth grade teacher Kathleen Bailey wrote: Holly Behm is the phenomenal team leader for the fifth grade at SES. She is always ready and available to help with anything you ask of her. She is just always on top of meeting the many demands of this job. I am fortunate to work alongside her every day. My success at SES is linked to Holly’s success as our team leader.

Stevenson second grade teacher Jessica Preston added: She is the most dedicated, knowledgeable, helpful person in existence.

Stevenson second grade teacher Brandy West wrote: I am nominating Mrs. Janie because of the incredible dedication and joy she brings to her work and our school community. Beyond her cafeteria duties, Mrs. Janie has gone above and beyond by supporting the elementary Beta Club. Her artistic creativity and willingness to contribute outside of contract hours have been instrumental in preparing our students for the state convention. Mrs. Jaine’s positive impact and selfless efforts truly deserve recognition.
