After losing five games in a row, the Logan County Lady Cougars have bounced back in a big way lately, not only winning five straight—including two in their district—but outscoring those five opponents by a combined scored of 58-6. The first four were shortened by the 10-run mercy rule.
Coach Mark Wood’s team got solid work on the mound from three pitchers—Shelby Gettings, Shayla Johnson and Hailey Burchett—without even using his most experienced pitcher, senior Abby Hinton.
The streak reached its peak with an impressive win over a good Russellville team in the Clash of the Lady Cats Tuesday. On Thursday, the Lady Cougars lost 10-9 in an extra inning to a Jo Bryns team which handed RHS one of its other two losses earlier in the season.
