Just one week after seeing a fourth-quarter lead evaporate, the Western Kentucky University football team scored 15 unanswered points over the final 12:44 to come back for a 25-24 victory over North Texas Saturday on Senior Day at Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium.
With the victory, the Hilltoppers concluded the regular season with a 7-5 overall record and a 4-4 mark in the Sun Belt Conference. North Texas ended its season with a 4-8 record and a 3-5 mark in the SBC.
“I told those guys ‘Just keep believing and we are going to win this game,’” said Hilltopper head coach Willie Taggart. “We just stayed positive.
