Logan fall sports teams off to good start

The Logan County High School fall sports season is off to another tremendous start as 2016-2017 promises to be one of the best seasons at LC. There are 327 student-athletes participating on 16 teams from Middle School, Freshman, Junior Varsity, and Varsity rosters, including girls and boys teams. An impressive number participating in our sports programs. Follow your favorite team/s this year and become a fan.

Below are just some of the highlights so far this season.

Boys Soccer - Boys started off the season strong with a 2-1 record. They recorded impressive wins over Dawson Springs (6-4), and Greenwood (2-0).The Cougars faced off against the Wildcats of Franklin-Simpson in a 13th District Clash last night in a physical battle, falling 4-2. The Cougars will be back in action Thursday at Barren County.

Girls Soccer - The Lady Cougars own a 1-1-2 record after last night's 13th District win at Franklin-Simpson (4-1). The Lady Cougars have ties with Glasgow and Muhlenberg County. The only loss these ladies suffered was at the hands of district foe Todd Co. (1-3). The Lady Cougars will be back in action Saturday at the Warren Central Lady Dragons Lair Classic. 

Middle School Football - The young Cougars are dominating as they've done over the past few seasons by starting 3-0 with wins over Warren East (32-20, South Hopkins 20-14, Franklin Simpson 28-14. The Cougars will be back in action Thursday at Hopkinsville.

Middle School Softball - The team is starting where they left off last season picking up wins over Butler County (7-3), Christian County, Apollo (3-0) and South Warren (5-2)

Volleyball - The girls continue their winning ways with wins over South Warren (25-22, 19-25, 25-22, 25-6) and Franklin Simpson (25-9, 25-8, 25-6)

Football - The football Cougars are presently 0-1 after a 53-14 loss at home against powerhouse Butler County. The Cougars hope to bounce back with a win this Friday night, on the road at Muhlenberg County.
