Waste Tire Day set next Friday, e-Scrap Day May 12

Two announcements from Logan County Solid Waste Coordinator Nathan Cockrill on events this spring:

*Next Waste Tire Day will be held on Friday, April 28, from 8 to 10 a.m., at the Logan County Road Department, 1088 Peyton St, Russellville (not the state barn on Nashville Rd). There is a 12-passenger tire limit; only two of those can be semi tires.

Some restrictions: They are not able to take large tractor and implement tires. The 12-tire limit is per vehicle, not person that comes. In other words, you cannot bring three people out there in your one vehicle and recycle 36 tires. Repeat trips are also not allowed (bringing the same vehicle with a different driver;,bringing the same driver with a different vehicle, etc.). Tire dealers and auto salvage yards are also unable to come. Please also don't come before 8 a.m. and expect to be served early.

The reason for most of these restrictions is the limited funding available. Next year will be the big tire event in the county, where folks can bring unlimited tires.

*The next e-Scrap Day will be on Friday, May 12, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Logan County Recycling Center, 1230 Morgantown Rd, Russellville. Items are free to bring except TV's and monitors, which will be $10 each.

These items will be accepted, free of charge and the data will be safely wiped:
