Two Logan County roads numbered 79 are scheduled for road work this week that will result in lane closures and stoppages. U.S. 79 runs southwest of Russellville and is known as the Clarksville Road. KY 79 runs north and is called the Morgantown Road.
These are the descriptions of the projects as announced by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s District 3:
U.S. 79 (mile points 2.9 to 4.7) – Motorists should expect one-lane traffic with temporary traffic signals at the bridges over Vicks Branch and Whippoorwill Creek. The lane closures are a part of new bridge construction in this area. The lane closures are expected to be in place through summer. The speed limit has been lowered to 45 mph. A width restriction of 10 feet is also in place.
KY 79 (mile point 2.7) - A project to overlay the bridge deck at the bridge over Mud River is expected to start next week. A temporary traffic signal will be in place.
Weather conditions could create changes in timing.
