College students wanting to transfer to WKU may be eligible for up to $4,000 in scholarship assistance.

The application deadline for the Transfer Scholarship is April 1 for fall 2017 admission. The admissions application serves as the scholarship application.

WKU awards merit-based scholarships to undergraduate students who transfer from a regionally accredited institution based on their academic achievements. Renewable scholarships range from $1,500 to $4,000, depending on eligibility criteria.

The largest group of transfers come from nearby Southcentral Kentucky Community & Technical College. Many of those SKYCTC transfers already have completed their general education requirements and hold associate degrees. Two years of study at SKYCTC costs less than one year at KU.

“WKU works hard to be the preferred transfer destination for students in the Commonwealth,” said Chris Jensen, director for the Academic Advising and Retention Center and the Transfer Center. “The Transfer Center is a one-stop shop that offers transfer admission, advising, credit evaluation, financial aid counseling and more. Our knowledgeable transfer advisors are accessible at each campus location, travel to partner community colleges, and can be reached via phone, email and video conferencing."

SKYCTC is offering a Transfer Fair on Tuesday, March 21, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Building F Conference Room on the Main Campus on Loop Drive across from Warren Central High School’s football field.

Students may choose to study online or at one of WKU’s campuses in Bowling Green, Elizabethtown-Fort Knox, Glasgow or Owensboro.
